This isn’t the kind of poetry you learned at school…Drop by, grab a coffee and enjoy a poetry performance for people that think they don’t like poetry with spoken word legends A Firm of Poets.

Matt Abbott and Ralph Dartford co-founded A Firm Of Poets in September 2013, and since then, The Firm have risen to become a nationally established spoken word organisation. Their 22-date national headline theatre tour ‘Ossett Observer presents: The People’s Republic of Poetry’ solidified their place on the national circuit, and their monthly ‘Unity Words’ night in Wakefield has been named as one of the best spoken word poetry nights in the country.

This is poetry that isn’t pretentious; poetry that isn’t afraid to be political; poetry that catches you by surprise; and poetry that will win over the toughest of cynics in the crowd.

As Poets in residency the Firm will also be popping up across the town throughout the festival in shops, cafes, bus stops and anywhere else we can find a place for them… keep an eye on social media for clues to where to find them!
